To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Korea-U.S. alliance, President Yoon Seok-yeol has embarked on his first visit to Washington, D.C. As befitting an ally, the U.S. welcomed the Korean president with full honors. Despite the pandemic, President Biden, who refrained from holding face-to-face meetings, personally received President Yoon and held a welcoming ceremony with a military parade.
President Yoon Seok-yeol, who is on a state visit to the United States, left Washington, D.C. on the 27th and arrived in Boston. That night, President Yoon and his wife, Kim Geon-hee, arrived at Boston's Logan International Airport on Air Force One, the presidential plane, and met with the welcoming party.
However, President Yoon's itinerary does not end with his arrival in Boston. On the 28th, he is scheduled to have a dialogue with scholars in the digital and bio fields at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and attend the Korea-U.S. Cluster Roundtable event.
